Core College Courses Provide Skills Needed in any Field

Don't know how to get started in a career? Can't make up your mind which career path is right for you? Don't get lost in the thought of it all! By enrolling in Gwinnett Tech's arts and sciences general studies program, you're making that first step to a brighter future. Regardless of what college program you enter, you'll start with core courses like reading, English, humanities, sociology and speech.

So why not get started on the fundamentals while you consider your options? And best of all, one of the general education courses may lead you right to the door of a decision.

Perhaps college math will make you realize you're a whiz at numbers and you want to continue in that discipline. Maybe college psychology will get you psyched for a career in that field. Many of these courses are offered online or at night, too, so your studies are on your schedule.

Whether you want to embark on a particular college path, or are still uncertain about what that path may be - or even if you just hope to refresh your skills in a certain area, Gwinnett Tech's general studies courses provide you the soft skills you'll need to be successful on your own journey. Courses do transfer if you decide to continue your education in a four-year program.

Courses in the general education program take just a semester to complete
