Gwinnett Technical College to Host National AFV Day Odyssey
Event to Showcase Cleaner, More Energy-efficient Choices in Transportation
On April 2 from 12 until 3 pm, Gwinnett Technical College will host an event that will showcase automotive choices, cleaner transportation and preserving America's energy independence. Alternatives to powering cars and trucks with fuels besides gasoline and diesel will be explored at 51 locations nationwide during the second National Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) Day Odyssey.
The inaugural AFV event in 2002 reached more than 17,000 people nationwide. The National spring 2004 event promises even to reach an even larger number.
The event will showcase the economic and environmental advantages offered by various clean, advanced-technology and alternative-fuel vehicles. Participants will discover the local AFV options available, local fuel sources, cost-saving facts, how these vehicles contribute to our national energy security and other benefits of owning and operating these smarter choices in transportation.
Coordinated by the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium, the local event is a joint endeavor between Gwinnett Technical College, the Center for Transportation and the Environment, the Fulton County Government and the Georgia Environmental Division.
