Gwinnett Technical College Graduates Newest ‘Standard-Setters’
More than 300 students participated in the Gwinnett Technical College graduation ceremony held Thursday, June 16, at the Gwinnett Civic and Cultural Center in Duluth.
W. Kerry Armstrong, senior vice president, Duke Realty Corporation, was the keynote speaker at the ceremony. Armstrong called the graduates the “newest standard-setters.” He encouraged the graduates, now that they have completed their education, to go after new challenges in their future and to be energized by those challenges.
“The world is starving for leadership,” Armstrong said. He said that with freedom comes responsibility. “You are now a known-achiever. You have the responsibility to continue to achieve.”
“These graduates are ready to enter into their careers after receiving training that has been carefully designed to provide real-world education,” said Gwinnett Technical College President Sharon Rigsby. “They are now open to a whole new world of opportunities that their education from Gwinnett Tech has given them.”
