Gwinnett Tech, AARP Tax-Aide Partner to Offer Resources through April 15
Tax season is here, but help is on the way! Gwinnett Technical College is partnering with AARP Tax-Aide to offer free income tax preparation and tax counseling for Gwinnett Tech students, faculty and staff, and citizens from the community.
Volunteers with AARP Tax-Aide are currently on the college’s campus and will be onsite through April 15. Counseling and assistance will be available in Room 2201 of The Busbee Center at Gwinnett Tech from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays; and from 9 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Fridays.
AARP Tax-Aide, the nation’s largest, free, volunteer-run counseling and preparation service last year assisted more than 1.9 million people file their personal income tax forms. The program is offered at more than 10,000 sites around the country including senior centers, colleges, libraries and other convenient locations. Each year at this time, AARP Tax-Aide volunteers prepare federal, state and local tax returns for middle and low taxpayers, with special attention to those aged 60+.
“The AARP Tax-Aide Program is a wonderful resource for the American taxpayer,” said Junior Pavik, district coordinator, AARP. “AARP Tax-Aide volunteers get a great deal of satisfaction from helping people deal with the challenges of preparing their tax forms.”
AARP Tax-Aide is administered through the AARP Foundation in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service.
