Gwinnett Tech Aids Terminix in Training

Pest control company adds 180 jobs to region, gets top-notch training at no cost through Georgia’s Quick Start program

Gwinnett Technical College and Terminix, the largest termite and pest control company in the world, have entered into an agreement that will provide training for employees of the company's Norcross facility in core business and computer skills and in leadership and human resources development. The training, conducted through the college's Quick Start division, is based on Terminix's commitment to providing 180 new jobs in the Norcross area.

"We are delighted to add Terminix to our roster of leading companies with which we do business and look forward to a long-lasting relationship helping to train and educate its workforce," said Gwinnett Tech President Sharon Rigsby.

The training program is a partnership of three key players: Terminix, Gwinnett Tech and Quick Start.

Quick Start is an economic incentive program that provides employee training at no cost for qualified companies moving into the state and qualified existing companies that are expanding their work force. It is administered through the Department of Technical and Adult Education and in technical colleges across the state.

Quick Start will design and develop training materials, as well as provide instructors for the classes, and Gwinnett Tech will continue to work with Terminix for other training projects as needed when the Quick Start program is completed this fall.

Terminix is the largest termite and pest control company in the world, with a network of 864 service centers worldwide. Terminix safeguards more than 1.9 million homes and businesses against all types of pests in 45 US states and in 14 countries internationally*.
