Elesys North America Inc. and Gwinnett Technical College Announce Quick Start Training Initiative

Gwinnett Technical College and Elesys, headquartered in Suwanee, have entered into an agreement that will provide training for Elesys employees through the college's Quick Start division.

Elesys is a global business leader with a history of providing automotive safety electronics on which consumers have depended for the last decade. Products include both passive and active safety systems: passenger sensing systems; occupant passenger detection system, airbag sensors and controllers, adaptive cruise control, all-terrain vehicle transmission controls, anti-lock braking systems, electronic power steering, traction control system, and vehicle stability controls.

Quick Start is Georgia's premiere economic development program, administered through the Department of Technical and Adult Education and technical colleges across the state. The Quick Start program is an economic incentive program that provides employee training, at no cost, for qualified companies moving into the state and qualified existing companies that are expanding their work force. The Quick Start program has been in existence since 1967. During this time period, it has trained more than 485,000 employees for more than 4,800 different companies.

The Quick Start training agreement was developed based on a project study that was conducted at Elesys in Suwanee, Ga. The training agreement is based on Elesys' commitment to provide approximately 25 new jobs for Georgians in the Gwinnett area. Quick Start will be designing and developing training material, as well as providing instructors, for the classes.

"We look forward to embarking on this new venture with Elesys, an industry leader, to help train and educate its Gwinnett-area workforce though the college's Quick Start program," said Gwinnett Tech President Sharon Rigsby.

The training program involves three distinct partners: Elesys, Gwinnett Tech and Quick Start. The partnership will not end when the Quick Start training is completed. Gwinnett Technical College will be available to assist Elesys North America Inc. with ongoing training programs.
