Gwinnett Tech Gains Added Credentials for Air Conditioning Program
The Air Conditioning Technology program at Gwinnett Tech has received national accreditation status, known in the industry as the Partnership for Heating Ventilation Air-Conditioning Refrigeration Accreditation (PAHRA).
The accreditation status means that Gwinnett Tech's program has met or exceeded the instruction, curriculum, student, faculty and facility standards set forth by the organizations that support PAHRA such as ARI, ASHRAE, CARE, GAMA, HARDI and PHCC. The accreditation is effective for five years.
The Partnership for Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Accreditation (PAHRA) is an independent, third party organization that is a partnership between heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) educators and the HVACR industry that awards accreditation to programs that have met and/or exceeded industry validated standards.
Gwinnett Tech's air conditioning technology program combines air conditioning theory and practical application preparing students for careers in the air conditioning service field. The diploma program can be completed in four quarters, and classes are offered day and evening. Hybrid classes (offered online and in-the-classroom) are also available. Air conditioning system maintenance technician and air conditioning electrical technician certificates can be completed in as little as one quarter.
