Gwinnett Tech Horticulture Program Hosts Annual Plant Sale

Take your pick on April 3 – 4, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Gwinnett Technical College's Horticulture program will usher in the growing season with its 14th annual Spring Plant Sale, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Thursday, April 3 and Friday, April 4, at the Gwinnett Tech greenhouse, adjacent to Building 600.

Reflective of Georgia's drought conditions, this year's offerings feature many heat and sun loving annuals and perennials.

"Our students started growing and nurturing these plants at the beginning of winter quarter in January, so we are literally selling the fruits of our labor – and our learning," says Dr. Richard Ludwig, program director of the Horticulture division. "The event is a community favorite, so come early for the best selection!"

Plants in the sale will include:

  • Begonias
  • Geraniums
  • Ferns
  • Coleus
  • Impatiens
  • Vinca
  • Tomatoes
  • Euphorbia
  • Dianthus
  • Perennial Banana
  • Swamp Sunflower
  • Mona Lavender Plectranthus
  • Hanging Baskets, Containers & More

Gwinnett Tech offers an associate degree and a diploma program in Environmental Horticulture, plus certificate options that train students for employment as a garden center technician, greenhouse technician, landscape design technician, landscape/greenhouse installation technician, and in site planning and analysis and floral design.
