Gwinnett Tech Commercial Photography Student Earns Industry Recognition
Mac-On-Campus website features student Gustavo Romero's portfolio
GTC Commercial Photography student Gustavo Romero has been honored by Mac-On-Campus as its student of the month. The honor earned the student the opportunity to showcase his work on the Mac-On-Campus website, which features 30 of Romero's photographs.
Mac-On-Campus is a subsidiary of Mac Group, a leading photography supply company. Mac-On-Campus is an educational support program that provides photography students with educational resources including equipment demonstrations and training in the use of photographic tools and techniques, and gives students discounts on photography equipment and supplies.
"I was amazed that they selected me," says Romero. "The recognition was something that I did not expect."
Romero's portfolio can be viewed on the Mac-On-Campus site at www.mac-on-campus.com/Gallery/Portfolio/3678.aspx.
The 25-year-old student, who is originally from Cali, Colombia and now resides in Lawrenceville, enjoys fashion photography and contemporary portraiture. He credits all of his success to the training he has received in Gwinnett Tech's Commercial Photography program.
"I have been learning so many things at Gwinnett Tech," says Romero. "I learned how to really see light, composition and colors in photography and train my eye."
Gwinnett Tech's Commercial Photography program director, Kim Harkins, is proud of the success that Romero has achieved. "He's helping to put Gwinnett Tech on the map," says Harkins. "He is really an incredible photographer."
Gwinnett Tech offers an associate degree and diploma in Commercial Photography plus a certificate program for Digital Imaging Specialist.
