Gwinnett Tech's Interiors Department Hosts Open House

Ceremony Will Celebrate Interiors Program's Newly Renovated Building

The faculty and students of Gwinnett Technical College's Interiors program will celebrate the completion of a two-year renovation of its campus building and honor their industry partners with an open house ceremony on Sept. 30 at Gwinnett Technical College in Building 500. Faculty and students will greet guests in two sessions – from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

"We're very eager and proud to showcase our new facility to the community and our industry partners," says Susan Arnold, Interiors program director, Gwinnett Tech. "Our facility and curriculum, along with the most advanced technical resources, are helping us hone and nurture the skills of our very talented students."

The open house ceremony will consist of a ribbon cutting for the Interiors program's building and two consecutive shows by paint company Benjamin Moore's marketing specialist, Fran Mooney. Mooney will present the company's international award-winning paint color forecast, Color Pulse 2012.

"The Interiors program is number one in the state in my opinion. I did a lot of research before choosing Gwinnett Tech's program," says Gayla Walker, Gwinnett Tech interiors student. "They are the only ones who bring practice, theory and technical skills to the table. From that, I have been able to create designs, master software and feel confident that I will be ready when I graduate for my career in interior design."

Gwinnett Tech's Interiors program offers an associate degree, diploma and certificate in interior design, as well as additional certificate options in painted and faux finishes and in kitchen and bath design. The kitchen and bath design certificate is supported by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA).

GTC offers more than 45 degree, diploma and certificate program options that you can finish in two years or less. For more information on all programs, visit www.GwinnettTech.edu or call 770-962-7580.
