Gwinnett Tech Introduces 2011 Student Ambassadors

Theta Class of Ambassadors Will Serve as the Face of GTC

Gwinnett Technical College has inducted 24 students into its Theta Class of Student Ambassadors, serving GTC for 2011 – 2012 academic year.

Gwinnett Tech Student Ambassadors serve as the face of college by assisting with school-wide and recruitment activities. The ambassadors serve as hosts for GTC visitors, represent the college at campus functions and participate in a wide range of community outreach projects.

"We recently inducted the Theta class and we are thrilled with the level of teamwork and commitment they have already displayed," says Rachel Mariano, student life director. "Our student ambassadors are extremely committed to serving our community through outreach."

Ambassadors are chosen through faculty nominations and series of interviews, and must maintain GPA and service hour requirements.

GTC's newest Student Ambassadors include:

  • Ade Duruibe, a Nursing student, from Winder

  • Alfred Sanalila, a Network Specialist student, from Dacula

  • Amonte Dismuke, a Web Design student from Snellville

  • Beth Hood, a Radiologic Technology student from Suwanee

  • David Wilkinson, a Sports Management student from Snellville

  • Diahn Sennette, a Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism student from Covington

  • Jessica Hanson, a Nursing student from Buford

  • Kayla Andrews, a Commerical Photography student from Statham

  • Kristina Meuse, a Nursing student from Snellville

  • LaQwacia Lakin, an Accounting student from Cumming

  • Lara Richards, a Radiologic Technology student from Winder

  • Lester Andrade, a Criminal Justice student from Lawrenceville

  • Lois Coffia, a Nursing student from Lawrenceville

  • Maggie Waddell, a Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism & Marketing student from Lawrenceville

  • Monica Miller, a Radiologic Technology student from Statham

  • Nancie Phillips, a Welding student from Bethlehem

  • Nicholas Flow, a Commercial Construction student from Duluth

  • Odam Chea, a Networking Specialist student from Lilburn

  • Rhea Dewey, a Bioscience Technology student from Jonesboro

  • Salman Nafees, a Nursing student from Lawrenceville

  • Shekinah Mitchell, a Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism student from Lawrenceville

  • Stephen Cook, a Veterinary Technology student from Lawrenceville

  • Urquart McMillian, a Criminal Justice student from Norcross

  • Zaneta Walczak, a Radiologic Technology student from Cumming
