Gwinnett Tech Hosts Animation Software Training
Three sessions provide training for incumbent workers
Gwinnett Technical College is partnering with the Georgia Entertainment Media Work Ready Region to host a series of animation software training sessions for current workers.
The training sessions, which began last week and will run through August 19, are held at Gwinnett Tech's International Education Center at Gwinnett Place. Participants are drawn from entertainment and media industry partners in the Atlanta area.
An instructor from Toon Boom Animation, a global leader in digital content and animation software, will train each of the participants on their Animate Pro software. This software is also used in Gwinnett Tech's gaming and computer simulation program.
"We believe this partnership should provide a strategic advantage to students who will have the opportunity to train on industry standard animation software and be able to develop critical skills to advance into a dynamic and fulfilling media arts career," said Dikran Husseindjian, senior director at Toon Boom Animation.
Sessions will run:
-
Session 1: July 11 to July 22
-
Session 2: July 25 to August 5
-
Session 3: August 8 to August 19
The training sessions are funded by the Georgia Entertainment Media Work Ready Region, supporting the goal of providing and supporting a skilled workforce needed for the growing computer gaming industry in Georgia.
