Student Accommodations

Assistive Technology and Testing Center
The Assistive Technology & Testing Center (ATTC) is a state-of-the-art facility.  The ATTC has seven computer stations, one of which includes a closed circuit television.  In addition, the Center has six adjustable height tables and various types of disability related software to accommodate a diverse student population. The center also provides a non-distracting environment and private testing room. As an added benefit, the center provides eBooks, if available, for course related material. Academic accommodations are provided for each individual student based on their specific disability.  Services include The Assistive Technology and Testing Center, Interpreting Services for students who are deaf/hard-of-hearing, as well as classroom accommodations which are based on individual student evaluations and recommendations.

The Gwinnett Technical College Assistive Technology and Testing Center is proud to offer:

 Interpreting Services
The Office of Disability Services coordinates interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.  This service is provided to facilitate communication with hearing persons. All students registered with the Office of Disability Services must provide appropriate documentation of their hearing loss. Each student is provided services based on their documented disability and individual evaluation.

Gwinnett Technical College offers a staff of qualified interpreters to assist students with all program related accommodations.

After completing the Student Intake Form, all students registered with Disability Services are required to submit their current schedule each semester in order to receive accommodations.

 Classroom Accommodations
Our goal is to produce independent students with an equal educational opportunity as non-disabled students.  In order to instruct and evaluate this student without penalty for his/her disability, specific modifications/accommodations are requested for the classroom.

Each student is provided services based on their documented disability and individual evaluation.

After completing the Student Intake Form, all students registered with Disability Services are required to submit their current schedule each semester in order to receive accommodations.
