Gwinnett Tech Students Earn Honors at State Business & Marketing CompetitionFour Gwinnett Technical College students were judged to be among the best in the state at the recent Delta Epsilon Chi (DEX) conference, earning the opportunity to compete at the DEX international event in April. Delta Epsilon Chi is an international organization for college students preparing for a variety of careers and fosters development through several avenues including annual skills competitions, networking with industry leaders and leadership training. Taking home top honors for Gwinnett Tech were:
Ellis, Deresch and Schnautz are enrolled in GTC's Marketing Management program, while Barton is in the Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management program. Faculty advisor Perry Hidalgo, program director for Gwinnett Tech's Marketing Management and Sport and Recreation Management programs, led a contingent of five students in all. Also attending was Lisa Wilson, a Culinary Arts student. The students who placed will to advance to the 2010 International Career Development Conference to be held April 17-20 in Louisville, Kentucky. DEX offers students an opportunity to learn leadership skills, network with peers and business leaders, and experience competition, getting them ready for the world of professional development.
