Ready to graduate? Congratulations!
Here is some information you will need to know as you plan to graduate.

Graduation Application

To receive your awarded credential(s), students must submit an application for graduation.

You will want to apply for graduation prior to your last semester of studies.

Graduation Application Requirements

All of the following requirements need to be met in order to be approved:

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher is required at the end of the awarded term.
  • Earn a minimum of 25% of their program’s required credits at Gwinnett Tech,
  • Complete all required learning support coursework.
  • Fulfill program of study curriculum requirements as published in the applicable catalog. If a student has had continuous enrollment at Gwinnett Technical College, he/she has two options:
    • Fulfill all of the graduation requirements as published in the catalog in effect at the time of your most recent acceptance to your program of study, or
    • Fulfill all of the graduation requirements as published in the catalog in effect at the time the graduation application is submitted.

After submitting a graduation application, Graduation Services will send an email to your student email account the following business day. This includes confirmation the graduation application has been received, along with an attached DegreeWorks graduation audit. Students are to contact an advisor with any questions regarding completion of their program of study.

Submitting a graduation application does not register a student to participate in Commencement.

Availability of Awards

Credentials awarded each semester are made available to students digitally from Congratulations@Parchment.com on the following schedule:

  • Fall e-Credentials will be available beginning January 15
  • Spring e-Credentials will be available beginning June 15
  • Summer e-Credentials will be available beginning August 15

Delivery of Diplomas

Certificates will be digital only; however, Degrees and Diplomas will be printed and mailed by Parchment. Once issued, students will have 72-hours to verify their mailing address. If not verified, the credentials will be mailed to the address on file in Banner.

You will be sent your digital e-diploma as proof of your earned credential.

Parchment digital e-Credentials, may be shared to LinkedIn, Facebook, X, or may be downloaded to email to employers or print out.

College Transcript

Once you have completed all academic requirements (grades posted and graduation audit completed), your degree/diploma/certificate award(s) will be posted in the college student records database system and will be reflected on your transcript.

How to Display Your Transcript

Login at Gwinnett Tech Banner (enter your user ID and PIN #)

Select Student Services and Financial Aid

Select Student Records

Select Submit

Your transcript will display. GPA information can be found at the end of the transcript.

Commencement Ceremony

Gwinnett Tech’s formal Commencement ceremony is held each year at the end of spring semester. Students completing graduation requirements during the current academic year (fall, spring, and summer) are eligible to participate in the formal ceremony.

After you have successfully completed the graduation application process, students will be sent emails from MarchingOrder.com with the link to R.S.V.P for the Commencement ceremony.

Note: Participation in the Commencement ceremony is not mandatory. Physical credentials will not be distributed during the ceremony. Students participating in Commencement will receive a Gwinnett Tech diploma cover during the ceremony.

If you plan to continue to register for courses after completing your current program of study, it is important that you complete a Returning/Readmit admissions application for your new program. A readmission application is necessary to avoid any issues with your financial aid.
