A.S. General Business

The Associate of Science in General Business degree program provides an introductory foundation to core aspects of the business environment, while also preparing students for continued study in the field of business. The program develops skills through coursework in communication, social/behavioral sciences, natural sciences, mathematics, and humanities, as well as through coursework in business disciplines. Graduates may pursue additional educational opportunities at four-year institutions or pursue a variety of entry-level positions in the broad career field of business.

Key Benefits

  • Transferable Credit: Students completing the General Business A.S. degree will earn 32 transferable credit hours in general education compared to 15 for the average A.A.S. program.
  • Retroactive Degree Eligibility: Students who transfer out of the program and finish their coursework at another eligible institution may still be awarded the A.S. in General Business retroactively, provided they have completed at least 25% of their coursework at Gwinnett Technical College.
  • Target Careers: This degree is suited for entry-level business management, sales professional, and human resource professional jobs, particularly for those interested in continuing their education after the Associate’s level.
