The Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Service Technician certificate equips students with the skills needed for a career in the automotive industry. This program focuses on the operation, diagnosis, and repair of hybrid and electric vehicles, with a strong emphasis on high-voltage battery safety. Students will have the opportunity to earn industry certification in the Hybrid/Electric Vehicle field.
Students can earn this certificate in addition to their program of study in Automotive Technology, Mopar CAP, Mercedes-Benz, or Ford ASSET.

Issues affecting a background check may hinder a student’s participation in an internship program and may prevent a student from completing the program and/or securing a job upon graduation.
Students must be at least 18 years old to start the program.
**Due to the demand and popularity of automotive programs (Automotive Technology, Ford ASSET, Heavy Diesel, Mercedes-Benz, & Mopar CAP) at Gwinnett Technical College, new students must contact AutomotiveDivision@GwinnettTech.edu immediately after applying to the college to complete a program advisement form. Acceptance into Gwinnett Technical College does not guarantee immediate placement within these programs.

Class schedules are designed to encourage student employment in the automotive industry while taking classes.
