Tuition and fees are assessed based on policies of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG). Certain fees are required to be paid each semester. They include technology, instructional, registration, student activity, accident insurance, facility access, campus supply fee, and campus safety. Some courses and/or programs may also have a recovery fee.

Fees are subject to change at the end of any semester. Information regarding the recovery course fees is located in the Course Descriptions of the catalog.

A hard copy of the tuition and fees can be obtained from the One Stop at the Lawrenceville and Alpharetta-North Fulton campuses.

Tuition is calculated by the number of credit hours a student registers for each semester. Tuition is assessed up to and including 15 credit hours per semester. Students are not assessed tuition for hours taken over 15 credit hours.

Payments can be made in person at the Business Office on the Lawrenceville campus using cash, check, money order, or credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express). Please visit your Banner account for secure online payment processing by credit card.

Tuition and fee payments are due by the deadline published in the Academic Calendar. If you have not been awarded Financial Aid, agreed to a payment plan, or paid for your educational charges by the Tuition/Fee Payment Deadline, your courses may be dropped. Credit card payments are not accepted by phone.

Students that register during the “Late Registration” time period, may be charged a non-refundable fee of $45.  Failure to fulfill your financial obligations can result in a hold being placed on your account and the denial of registration, transcripts, certification of degrees/diplomas, and other services.

Verification of Lawful Presence in the United States

The Financial Aid Office abides by the policy for Verification of Lawful Presence in the United States policy. We are required to verify a student’s residency and lawful presence status. For the policy, read the “Residency and Verification of Lawful Presence Document

Citizenship and Eligible Non-Citizens

  • Students who are classified as Out-of-State, pay tuition that is two times the rate of in-state students.
  • Non-Citizen students pay tuition that is four times the rate of in-state students. Non-citizen students are not eligible for financial aid.

Residency Requirements for Tuition
Georgia Resident: Student must be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen living in the State of Georgia. You must also meet the in-state tuition requirements of TCSG.

Eligible Non-Citizen: A student who, in accordance with the Federal Student Aid definition, is a United States permanent resident with a Permanent Resident Card (I-551), a conditional permanent resident (I-551C), or the holder of an Arrival-Departure Record (I-94) from the Department of Homeland Security. The I-94 must show any one of the following descriptions: Refugee, Asylum Granted, Parolee (I-94 confirms paroled for a minimum of one year and status has not expired), or Cuban-Haitian Entrant. Also accepted are “Victims of Human Trafficking” T-Visa holders (including T-1, T-2, T-3, T-4 classifications). Individuals with an F1 or F2 student visa, a J1 or J2 exchange visitor visa, or a G series visa are not considered for an eligible non-citizen status.

Non-Citizen: A student who is not a United States born or naturalized citizen of the United States.

Out-of-State: A student who has not lived and maintained residency in the State of Georgia for at least 12 months prior to the first day of classes.

To have your resident status changed, you must provide the required documentation to the Registrar’s Office.
In-State Tuition Waivers: Some students are eligible for in-state tuition waivers. These waivers do not affect the student’s eligibility for the HOPE Scholarship or Grant, except waivers for military personnel and their dependents as provided for in the GSFC regulations.

The student’s residence status is not changed automatically. A request must be made for the change at the proper time, and the student must provide proof of change of residence status. Changes made during a semester will be effective for the following semester. Requests for change of classification will not be considered more than twice in one year.
