Regular Admit Dual Enrollment Students
A Dual Enrollment student is a 10th–12th grade high school student in a public, private, or accredited Georgia homeschool who takes both high school and college courses at the same time. These courses can count toward graduation and may transfer to a college or university after high school.

- Dual Enrollment Funding
- For 10 graders – Dual Enrollment funding covers tuition, mandatory institutional fees and textbooks for approved CTAE Technical courses
- For 11 and 12 graders – Dual Enrollment funding covers tuition, mandatory institutional fees and textbooks for approved CTAE Technical courses and approved Core General Education courses

- Students in a HOPE Career Grant program of study can complete the DE Lawful Presence (DELP) Verification form to

- Male Students (ages 18 – 25) – federal law requires that you register for Selective Service at least one month prior to your 18th birthday to receive dual funding. Failure to register will result in an interruption of funding. www.sss.gov/register
- When does Gwinnett Technical start to apply funding?
- Funding is not applied to a student’s account until around the fifth week after classes start to allow for changes to final college schedules.
- Below are a few additional notes:
- Dual students may receive billing notices per the Bursar’s office while funding is being processed.
- Dual funding is ongoing throughout the term due to term C or schedule changes
- How do I pay my tuition and fees NOT covered by dual funding?
- Any portion of tuition or fees that are not covered by funding for the dual enrollment student, must be paid for by the student. It is the responsibility of the student to know what sources and amounts of funding are available for the student. Dual Grades & Transcript Information
- Gwinnett Tech awards whole letter grades at the end of each term (A, B, C, D, and F). Students can view the grading policy in the course catalog and on the course syllabus.
- Numerical Grade request – Complete a Numerical Grade Request Form to have the numerical grade sent to the high school.
- College Transcript
- How can I send my college transcript to my high school?
- Gwinnett Tech will send one unofficial transcript per semester to the high school listed on your admissions application, at no cost to the student. The student does not need to take any action for this process to complete.
- If your high school requires an official transcript, it is the responsibility of the student to request and pay for the official transcript through the following link: Request Your Transcript
- This form can be completed at any time.
- If you indicate “Hold for Final Grades” then the final official transcript will not be sent until after final grades are posted.
- If you do not choose “Hold for Final Grades” your official transcript will be sent without grades for your in-progress classes. This may cause you to request another official transcript after grades have posted. A new request and payment will be required for each transcript.

- Which dual courses will colleges accept?
- Gwinnett Tech is a SACS accredited college. There are 38 General Education core courses that are guaranteed to transfer from our college to other TCSG and USG schools in Georgia. However, it is the student’s responsibility to inquire with any college or university about their policy for accepting credits.

- Dual students can register only after they have been accepted.

- What types of courses can I take?

- How many courses can I take?
- Dual Enrollment funding is available for up to 15 credits a semester, not to exceed 30 credits in total. Speak with your high school counselor for advisement.
- What is Drop/Add?
- It is an opportunity for students to make changes to their schedule without an impact on the grade received.

- How do I withdraw from a course?
- The decision to withdraw should be discussed with your high school counselor, to ensure you remain on track to meet your high school graduation requirements.
- You should also meet with an enrollment advisor to discuss the impact of a W on your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
- Check the academic calendar for the deadline to earn a “W”. Withdrawing after the deadline will result in a “WF” (Withdraw-Fail).
- Dual enrollment funding only allows 2 withdrawals from a course for which dual enrollment has been applied while participating in dual enrollment.

- Students register themselves for courses through their student dashboard account during the registration period.

- Student needs to provide their name, GTC ID number and course number (example: MKTG 1000)
- Please note that the student may be advised that a change of major may be needed to prevent future error messages from occurring.

Accelerated Career Pathway (ACP) Dual Enrollment Students
The Accelerated Career Pathway is for eligible public high school students (only) in grades 10–12 to earn their high school diploma and one of the following:
- an associate degree,
- a diploma, or
- two approved Technical Certificates of Credit (TCCs).
High School Requirements
Students must complete the following nine (9) high school courses: 2 English, 2 Math, 1 Health/PE, 2 Science, 2 Social Students (see your high school for details).

- Things to consider become applying to become an Accelerated Career student:
- Students must complete both their high school requirements AND their college requirements by their high school graduation date.
- High school 12th graders should not consider applying to complete a degree program of study due the amount of time it will take to complete the college program of study.
- Some programs of study may have a waitlist and/or the availability is limited, please review the approved list of programs of study to see if the program of study you’re considering is one of them. Students can always email DualEnrollment@GwinnettTech.edu to check the availability of a high demand program of study.
- It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that they complete the high school requirements & communicate with their high school counselor. We will only advise students on their college courses.

Home School Dual Enrollment Students
A dual enrollment homeschool student is a 10th–12th grader who receives education at home and takes college-level courses while working toward a high school diploma.
Home School Dual Enrollment Funding
- The Home School administrator Create a GAfutures Account for your GA Home Study Program in GAfutures
- Be certain the home school name is original. Administrators can only access the account they created in GAfutures.
- The student will complete the Student Application & Parent Participation Agreement
- Gwinnett Technical College does NOT need this form.
