High School Counselors

Welcome, High School Counselors! This resource hub offers comprehensive dual enrollment information designed to support our partnership and empower you in guiding students toward academic success.

Admissions Process

  • Apply Now to Dual Enrollment page
  • Processing of each admissions item can take up to 10 business days (Monday – Friday) from the date we receive the item.
  • High School Counselors can submit the following required admissions documents on behalf of the student. Please emailed the documents to DEAdmissionsDocs@GwinnettTech.edu – Please enter your high school’s name in the subject line to ensure the items is received by your assigned Enrollment Specialist –
    • DETA form
    • Official High School transcript
    • Official PSAT score report
    • Accelerated Career Pathway Student Consent form – this form must be submitted each term (fall, spring, and summer)

Funding

Funding Process

  • When does Gwinnett Technical start to apply funding?
    • Funding is not applied to a student’s account until around the fifth week after classes start to allow for changes to final college schedules.
    • Below are a few additional notes:
      • Dual students may receive billing notices per the Bursar’s office while funding is being processed.
      • Dual funding is ongoing throughout the term due to term C or schedule changes

Funding Rosters

  • The DE Admission department will be sent to each high school twice from the assigned DE Enrollment Specialist
    • at the start of the term
    • after the reinstatement date (ten days after classes start) for student’s that are reported as a No Show (refer to Campus Calendar for the date classes start).
  • Please approve all funding NLT (no later than) 30 days after the first day of the term.

What are some things that can affect a student’s funding being approved?

  • Selective Service – males receiving federal funding MUST register for Selective Service at least one moth prior to their 18th birthday. Failure to do so will result in an interruption to funding. All students are notified by email. https://www.sss.gov/
  • Non funded Dual courses – DETA Form.
