Gwinnett Technical College’s Automotive Service Technology Mopar CAP Program Receives National Accreditation

GWINNETT – Gwinnett Technical College’s Automotive Service Technology Mopar CAP program has been approved by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). The ASE accreditation assures students receive a quality education in automotive technology which is current with emerging technologies and requirements in the automotive industry.

This accreditation assures potential employers graduates of the program have completed the program and have the ability and knowledge to make immediate contributions to their organization. Dr. D. Glen Cannon, president, states, “This accreditation strengthens the relationship between Gwinnett Tech and industry leaders; it gives added assurance that Gwinnett Tech graduates are employable, work-ready technicians.”

Gwinnett Tech is one of 11 public colleges in Georgia to hold this level of certification. “The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is recognized throughout North America and Canada for industry-leading technician training and certification.

To achieve this recognition, the school’s automotive training program underwent rigorous evaluation by the ASE Education Foundation. Nationally accepted standards of excellence in areas such as instruction, facilities, and equipment were used.

Dr. Jennifer Roberts, Dean of Public and Professional Services, added, “During the past few months, we have worked closely with the ASE Education Foundation to make certain that our program would meet strict industry standards, and now we are delighted to join the ranks of the ASE accredited training programs.”
