2. Submit all official records and comply with entrance testing requirements.
Applicants with Less Than 30 Earned College Credits, please submit:
- An official high school or GED transcript AND
- An official transcript from all colleges attended AND
- Complete the ACCUPLACER placement exam and/or submit official SAT or ACT scores
(Refer to below chart to see if your SAT/ACT scores exempt ACCUPALCER testing)
You may also exempt ACCUPLACER testing with prior college credits (contact Admissions for details: Admissions@GwinnettTech.edu)
Applicants with College Credits of 30 Semester Hours or More (with a C or better in each course), please submit:
- an official transcript from all colleges attended AND
- Complete the ACCUPLACER placement exam and/or submit official SAT or ACT scores.

If you do not meet the required SAT or ACT scores, or if test results are more than 5 years old, we require that a new ACCUPLACER exam be taken for placement.
3. Submit proof of Georgia residency/verification of lawful presence in the U.S.
Some degree, diploma and certificate programs have additional admission requirements*. After we receive your application, you will be notified if there are additional documents needed for your area of study.
- In accordance with Georgia HB 87 and Technical College System of Georgia policy, all applicants for admissions and re-admissions for Spring Semester 2012 and beyond, who seek to be classified as in-state or out-of-state for tuition purposes, are required to provide proof of lawful presence in the United States
- Students must provide the proper documentation to prove residency status and lawful presence
- Residency status will determine tuition rate. See tuition rates (link to the following webpage: https://gwinnetttech.edu/admissions-and-financial-aid/bursar/tuition-fees/)
- In order to qualify for the in-state tuition rate, students must do the following
- Establish domicile in Georgia and reside in Georgia for 12 consecutive months immediately prior to the start date of the term you intend to enroll
- Be a US Citizen
- Any non-citizen student requesting to pay at the in-state tuition rate will be required to provide verification of their lawful presence in the United States to be classified as an in-state student or awarded an out-of-state tuition waiver
- TCSG procedure 6.2.2p “Each college shall be responsible for the verification of the lawful presence in the United States of every successfully admitted student applying for Georgia resident tuition status as required by state and federal immigration laws.”
- Non-citizen alien students will be charged the foreign tuition rate
